Say less

From African American Vernacular English, literally an instruction to stop talking because the point is already made. It circulated in hip-hop and everyday Black speech before spreading widely online in the late 2010s.

  1. phrase · /say LES/

"I understand completely — you don’t need to explain any further."

It signals instant, total agreement or comprehension: the speaker is already on board and is waving off the rest of the pitch. It conveys both understanding and eagerness in two words, often as a warm way to accept an invitation.

"Want to grab tacos after this?" "Say less."

Close to bet as an affirmation, but say less specifically means "no further explanation is needed," not just "agreed."
