Respawn

From video games, "spawn" is where a character enters the world, and to "respawn" is to return after being killed, usually at a checkpoint. "Spawn" traces to the biological sense of laying eggs, via Old French "espandre" (to spread out). Figuratively, to respawn is to bounce back and try again after a setback.
