Periodt
Etymology
An emphatic respelling of period, long used to mean "end of discussion." The added -t reflects Black American and drag-culture pronunciation, and the spelling "periodt" spread from Black LGBTQ and Black women’s speech online in the late 2010s, often paired with phrases like "and that’s on that."
interjection · /PEER-ee-uhd/
An emphatic full stop tacked onto a statement to mark it as final and beyond argument.
What it names
It turns the punctuation mark into a spoken exclamation — a way of saying "and that settles it," closing a point off from any rebuttal.
Example
That’s the best album of the year, periodt.
